To sum me up in one word… not easy…

  • gadget head
  • geek
  • homo universalis
  • nerd
  • polymath
  • renaissance man
  • technology evangelist

Say all that half a dozen times 🙂

It all started long, long ago, in a land far, far away… well, okay, it was 1979 in Victoria, BC.

While in high school, the electronics lab bought a computer.  It was a Radio Shack TRS 80. This was pretty well one of the first personal computers to hit the market. It was love on first sight, I was bitten by the computer bug.

Later in college I took some more computer courses. Does anyone remember programming in Pascal? I think it’s pretty well gone the way of the dodo bird…

In 1989 I was already online. But everything was still phone lines, and for the most part, most people connected to BBS’s – Computer Bulletin Boards. You don’t want to know how slow 300 baud is. By 1996, the World Wide Web became known as the Internet.

I had a domain up in 1999, and I taught myself website design at a frantic pace. I was coding in raw HTML, staring at a screen for hours on end. A year later I took some more computer courses.

I soon discovered my specialty lay in design, rather than coding. Over the years I have made websites for people and businesses. My first blog was in 2006, and since then I have blogged. This is my 4th blog.

Technology – I love it. I live it, and breathe it.
